Segment Editor – better options for time development

The Segment Editor makes it possible to get an overview of the report segments your company has created in connection with multiple surveys in a series. With the Segment Editor, it is possible to merge segments that have changed names during a series of surveys.

Note: The Segment Editor is only available in our paid subscriptions. Contact us if you would like to know more about our subscription solutions.

Where to find the Segment Editor

Click on "Edit" on a survey. It doesn’t matter whether it is a draft, a completed, or an ongoing survey.

When you enter the survey, you’ll find the gear icon in the top right corner. Select "Manage all segments for the survey series".

You will now open a view where you can see all segments in the survey series – not just the single survey you clicked edit on.

Search and sorting

At the top of the screen, you can search by segment and person, and sort by different types of segments.

In the example below, a search has been conducted for 'marketing'. The segment for Marketing has changed its name several times during the series of surveys. The current name for the Marketing department is Sales.

It is not possible to see time development for the segment Sales & Marketing", because there is only one survey in the series with this segment name.

This requires segments to be moved/merged.

Moving/merging segments

To see time development, the other Marketing segments must be moved into the Sales & Marketing series. I start with the oldest segment, which is marked in green. When I hover over it, I can see the text: "Select to move this to another segment".

When I click here, the list of segments opens, and I can choose where I want to move the segment – here I find "Sales".
